Al Watson is the Assistant Dean and Director of Admission and Financial Aid. Dean Watson has worked for the College of Law as the Director of Admission and as the Director of Admission and Financial Aid since 1986; he became an Assistant Dean in 1993. In these capacities Dean Watson oversees the Admissions Office, directs all recruiting, is a member of the Admissions Committee, awards scholarships and works closely with the University Student Financial Aid Office with financial aid packaging for law students. He is a past recipient of the Nettie Birk/Dottie Sutton Staff Recognition Award and before joining the law school worked in the Undergraduate Admissions Office at Wittenberg University.
A native of South Haven, Michigan, Dean Watson received his BA in Political Science and Business Administration from Hope College in 1979. He has also earned a MA in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University in 1981.
John Stiles is the Assistant Director of Admissions for the College of Law. He joined the Law School in December 2007 and serves as a primary contact for prospective students throughout the admissions process. He also coordinates a variety of programs geared towards recruiting students. Prior to coming to the College of Law, Stiles worked with students in the enrollment management division at University of Dayton and in higher education sales with Sallie Mae. He also has experience working with several non-profit organizations and was an AmeriCorps volunteer from1998-1999.
A native of Kettering, Ohio, John earned his BA degree in Political Science in 1998 and his MS in Human Development Services in 2004, both from the University of Dayton.
Jessica Butler is the Admissions Officer for the College of Law. She recently came on board with the Law School in June 2007, serving as the primary contact for all prospective and incoming students. Butler regularly communicates with the prospective students regarding questions they may have with the admissions process or the law school. She is responsible for operation of the College of Law's Admissions software, Admit M, and related programming. She also assists with a variety of programs related to the recruitment of new law students, including the Minority Law Day, the Cincinnati Metro Law Fair, as well as various open house programs hosted by the Admissions Office. Butler has a hand in developing the communications plan for applicants regarding their admissions status and she works with the College of Law web designer to keep the College of Law website updated with current information.
Prior to the College of Law, Butler served as the Manager for the Catskeller Game Room and MainStreet Cinema located in the Tangeman University Center on UC's campus. Additionally, she served three years as a student employee in Xavier University's Graduate Admissions Office. A native of Leesburg, Ohio, Butler received her undergraduate degree in Public Relations from Xavier University and is currently working to obtain her master's degree in Labor and Employee Relations from the University of Cincinnati.
